Within the Region of Campania, just 6 kilometres from Avellino, rests the small medieval town of Capriglia Irpina. Situated like a fortress on a hill 575 meters above sea level, the town is dominated by the castle of Prince Caracciolo Carafa. The town is known as the birth place of “Gian Pietro Carafa” (Pope Paol IV- Pontiff from 1555 til 1559) and is honoured within the splendid cornice in the Regional Park of Partenio. The wonderful panorama that is enjoyed from these hills are the most beautiful that Irpina has to offer. From high above the mountain and on a clear day, it is possible to see the nearby Golf of Naples.
Within this context, we find the holiday farmhouse La Serenella, a name chosen by the proprietor, Carmine Spiniello in 1998 the year in which the complex was in inaugurated. The Agriturismus (holiday farmhouse) had already been an idea of his father, Prof. Domizio Spiniello. And yet many years prior to this, the grandfather, Carmine Guerriero had imagined the serenity of the area and the possibility of combining agriculture, nature, and hospitality.
