Surrounded by oak and chestnut woods, vineyards, olive groves, and meadows where the estate’s horses graze, “La Selvaccia” is situated in the absolute peace and tranquillity of the Tuscan countryside, the perfect place to rediscover intimacy, a taste for life close to nature, and warm hospitality.
The main house and adjacent annexe, both in stone, have been renovated with great love by the owners, fully respecting the characteristics of a Tuscan farmhouse, preserving the original materials such as the terracotta floors and wood for the beautiful, wood-beamed ceilings, typical of Tuscany.
Restful days can be spent in the silence of the surroundings, or walking along the many footpaths that lead across country to the local hillside towns, a true journey back in time among churches, castles, and the artistic and cultural heritage of the area. One can visit the local wine producing farms, whose quality wines have achieved much sought-after recognition at wine fairs, or take a trip to the finest Tuscan historical cities and their surroundings: Siena and Arezzo about 30 km away; Florence, about an hour by car, but if preferred the train is very convenient.
The area is part of the Province of Arezzo’s Strade del Vino e dell’Olio (Wine and Oil Routes), which pass through a suggestive hillside landscape dotted with many noteworthy farmhouses. But excellent oil and wine are not all one can discover: there is also the gastronomy, the people, the hospitality, the traditions and the nature, all of which emphasise the excellent quality of life in this area.
